This seminar begins with provisions and contract phrases that contractors and suppliers should include in their contracts and credit applications. Also included in this discussion is some advice on how to deal with problem contracts and phrases. The discussion ends with a discussion on what needs to be included in a home improvement contract.
The second part of the seminar focuses on recognizing collection problems and how to deal with them. The seminar will discuss “collection red flags”, license bond claims and making a claim in Small Claims Court. Also included is a section of collecting judgments, including information on abstracts of judgments, bank levies and keepers.
Included with this seminar is a handout with sample contract provisions and phrases, information relating to home improvement contracts, a list of “collection red flags” and information of collecting judgments, including forms. Participation and questions are encouraged.
